Teacher: John, how do you spell “crocodile”?

John: “K-R-O-K-O-D-A-I-L”.

Teacher: No, thats wrong.

John: Maybe its wrong, but you ask me how I spell it!

老师:约翰,你是怎么拼读“crocodile”的?

约翰:“K-R-O-K-O-D-A-I-L”。

老师:拼错了。

老师:也许是我拼错了,但您不是问,我是怎么拼的吗!

Teacher: Cindy, why are you doing your maths sums on the floor?

Cindy: You told me to do it without using tables!

老师:辛迪,你为什么在地上做算术题啊?

辛迪:您不是要我不在桌子上做吗!

(注:table 有两个含义:(1)桌子;(2)乘法)

Teacher: In this box, I have a 10-foot snake.

Sammy: You cant fool me. Teacher... snakes dont have feet.

老师:在这个盒子里有一条10-feet的蛇。

萨米:您别愚弄我了。老师……蛇没有feet啊。

(注:feet有两个含义:(1)脚;(2)长度单位,英尺)

“If there are any idiots in the room, will they please stand up? ”said the sarcastic teacher.

After a long silence, one freshman rose to his feet.“Now then, sir, why do you consider yourself an idiot? ”

Inquired the teacher with a sneer. “Well, actually I dont, ”said the student, “but I hate to see you standing up there all by yourself. ”

一位老师挖苦地对学生说道:“如果这个教室里有白痴的话,他们会愿意站出来吗?”

教室里一片寂静后,一个大一新生站了起来:“那么,老师,您为什么认为您自己是一个白痴啊?”

老师嘲笑道:“事实上,我并不这么认为。”

学生回答道:“但是我讨厌看到您总是这么一个人站着那里。”
