小红帽

Once upon a time there was a little girl who was loved by every one.She always wore a little cap of red velvet,which her grandma made for her.So she was always called Little Red Riding Hood.

从前有个可爱的小姑娘，人见人爱。她总是戴着外婆为她做的一顶丝绒小红帽。于是大家便叫她“小红帽”。

One day her mother said to her,“Come here,Little Red Riding Hood！ Here is a piece of cake and a bottle of wine.Take them to your grandmother.She is ill and weak,and they will do her good.”

一天，妈妈对小红帽说：“来，小红帽！这里有一块蛋糕和一瓶葡萄酒，快给外婆送去。外婆生病了，身子很虚弱，吃了这些就会好一点的。”

Her grandmother lived out in the wood.As Little Red Riding Hood entered the wood,she met a wolf.Little Red Riding Hood did not know what a wicked creature he was,and was not at all afraid of him.

外婆住在村子外面的森林里。小红帽刚走进森林就碰到了一条狼。小红帽不知道狼是坏家伙，所以一点也不怕它。

“Good morning,Little Red Riding Hood,”said he.“你好，小红帽，”狼说。

“Thank you,wolf！ ”“谢谢你，狼先生！ ”

“Where are you going so early,Little Red Riding Hood?”“小红帽，这么早要到哪里去呀？”

“To my grandmother’s！”“我要到外婆家去！”

“What have you got in your basket?”the wolf asked,looking at the basket.狼一边盯着篮子，一边问道：“你那篮子里面是什么呀？”

“Cake and wine! ”answered Little Red Riding Hood.小红帽回答说：“蛋糕和葡萄酒。”

“Where does your grandmother live,Little Red Riding Hood?”“你外婆住在哪里呀，小红帽？”

“Her house stands under three large oak-trees.You surely must know it,”replied Little Red Riding Hood.“她的房子就在三棵橡树下。你一定知道的。”小红帽说。

“Little Red Riding Hood,how pretty the flowers are around here！ Why don’t you carry some flowers to your grandma?She will like them.”

“小红帽，你看周围这些花多么美丽啊！你为什么不给外婆摘些花呢？她肯定会喜欢它们的。”

And so she ran from the path into the wood to look for flowers.And whenever she had picked one,she thought that she could find a still prettier one farther on.So she got deeper and deeper into the wood.

她于是离开大路，走进林子去采花。她每采下一朵花，总觉得前面还有更美丽的花朵，便又向前走去，结果一直走到了林子深处。

Meanwhile the wolf ran straight to the grandmother’s house and knocked at the door.

就在此时，狼直接跑到外婆家，敲了敲门。

“Who is there?” asked grandmother.外婆问道：“是谁呀？”

“Little Red Riding Hood,” replied the wolf,“I am bringing cake and wine for you.Open the door,please.”是小红帽。狼回答，“我给你送蛋糕和葡萄酒来了。快开门哪。”

“Liftthe latch,” called outthe grandmother, “I am too weak.”“你拉一下门栓就行了，”外婆说道，“我身上没有力气。”

The wolf lifted the latch,the door sprang open.And he went straight to the grandmother’s bed,and ate her.Then he put on her clothes,dressed himself in her cap,lay in bed and drew the curtains.

狼拉开了门。狼冲到外婆的床前，把外婆吞进了肚子。然后她穿上外婆的衣服，戴上她的帽子，躺在床上，还拉上了帘子。

Little Red Riding Hood had gathered so many flowers that she could carryno more,she remembered her grandmother,and set out on the way to hers.Shewassurprisedtofindthedooropen.

小红帽采了许多花，她都拿不了啦。这时她才想起外婆，重新上路去外婆家。看到外婆家的屋门敞开着，她感到很奇怪。

She went into the room and found grandma was lying in bed.小红帽走进房间，发现外婆躺在床上。

“Oh,grandmother,” she said, “What big ears you have！ ”“哎，外婆，”她说，“你的耳朵好大呀！”

“To hear you better,my child！ ”was the reply.“为了更好地听你说话呀，乖乖！”

“But,grandmother,what big eyes you have！”she said.“可是，外婆，你的眼睛怎么这样大呀！”小红帽又问。

“To see you better,my dear！ ” “为了更清楚地看你呀，乖乖！”

“But,grandmother,what large hands you have！”“外婆，你的手怎么这样大呀！”

“To hug you better！ ” “可以更好地抱着你呀！”

“Oh, but, grandmother,what a terrible big mouth you have！”“外婆，你的嘴巴怎么大得很吓人呀！”

“To eat you！ ” “可以一口把你吃掉呀！”

And the wolf got out of bed and swallowed up Little Red Riding Hood.Then the wolf lay down again in the bed,fell asleep and began to snore very loudly.

狼从床上跳起来，把小红帽吞进了肚子。接着它便重新躺到床上睡觉，而且鼾声震天。

A hunter was just passing by,and he thought maybe something had happened to the old grandma.So he went into the room,only to see the wolf.

一位猎人碰巧从屋前走过，心想：“这老太太是不是出什么事了。”猎人走进屋，发现躺在那里的竟是狼。

The hunter wondered the wolf might have swallowed the old lady,so he took a pair of scissors,and began to cut open the stomach of the sleeping wolf.

猎人怀疑狼很可能把老太太吞进了肚子,于是操起一把剪刀，动手把呼呼大睡的狼的肚子剪了开来。

And the little girl sprang out，and then the aged grandmother came out alive.

小姑娘便跳了出来。接着，外婆也活着出来了。

Little Riding Hood quickly fetched great stones with which she filled up the wolf’s belly.

小红帽赶紧跑去搬来几块大石头，塞进狼的肚子。

When the wolf woke up,he wanted to run away,but the stones were so heavy that he collapsed at once,and fell dead.

狼醒来之后想逃走，可是那些石头太重了，它刚站起来就跌到在地，摔死了。

Then all the three were delighted.The hunter drew off the wolf’s skin and went home with it.Little Riding Hood went home joyously,and no one ever did anything to harm her again.

三个人高兴极了。猎人剥下狼皮，回家去了。小红帽高高兴兴地回了家，从此以后再也没有谁伤害过她。
