爱尔兰摇滚近年声势比较弱，U2退出录音室专辑已是几年前的事，The Cranberries解散、Sinead Oconnor则把音乐转向了静谧的神学，老一辈的音乐人似乎都在休养生息当中。不过最近几个月一支来自都柏林的新鲜血液——The Script重新赢得了大家对爱尔兰摇滚的关注。The Script是一支三人摇滚乐队，成员包括主唱Danny ODonoghue、光头吉他手Mark Sheehan、鼓手Glen Power。但颇令人迷惑的是，单从曲风上来说，The Script的音乐听起来不太像爱尔兰摇滚，反而美国味更浓一些。原来The Script三位成员的其中两位，Mark与Danny在青少年时期就在都柏林的詹姆士街区相识，两人均对美国黑人音乐情有独钟。因此，除了保留爱尔兰原有的摇滚风格，The Script更结合黑人音乐风格，强势力拼当红乐队Maroon5。
