(children are horseplaying[打闹] with each other and Teacher Joe is calling the roll[点名])

Teacher Joe: Okay, remember our field trip[(学生)实地考察旅行]

rules everyone are no pushing, no biting and no fire breathing. What did I just say? 18, 19…Okay, were missing one! Who are we missing? (noting that Mike is still on the bus) Oh, Mike Wazowski.

Mike: Thanks, Joe. Good luck finishing your crossword puzzle[

Teacher Joe: Sorry, Michael. I didnt see you.

Mike: Thats okay. When I was on the bus, I found a nickel[五分镍币]! I wish I had pockets.

Teacher Joe: Okay everyone, partner up, get your field trip buddy[

Mike: (being ignored by everybody) Jeremy, you and me? Okay, no biggie. Hayley, no? Pairing up with Claire? Great choice! Shes a good egg. Russell! Mike? Wazowski? We car pool[合伙用车]? Were cousins...

Boy A:Hey!

Russell: Hey!

Mike: Okay. Good catching up!

Teacher Joe: Well Michael, looks like its you and me again.

Mike: Hehe…(enters the Scare Floor) Wow!

Scarer[吓人的人] A:Well hey there, kids! Are you on a tour with your school?

Teacher Joe: Yes! Were here to learn about scream energy and what it takes to be a scarer.

Scarer A:Well, hey, youre in luck! Because I just happen to be a scarer. And I learned everything I know from my school—Monsters University. Its the best scaring school there is.

Scarer B:You wish! Fear Techs the best.

Scarer A:OK. You guys watch us and tell me which schools the best. All right? M.U. is.

You wish!

1) —Do I look like Scarlett Johansson in this dress?

—You wish!(你想得美!)

2) —Could you lend me 5,000 dollars?

—You wish!

Randy: Im so nervous.

Mike: Relax. Itll be fine.

Professor Knight: Good morning, students. Welcome to Scaring 101. I am Professor Knight. Now Im sure all of you were the scariest monster in your town. Well bad news, kids. Youre in my town now. And I do not scare easily!(rightly scared by someone who is flying in through the window) Dean Hardscrabble. This is a pleasant[令人愉快的] surprise.

Mike: (mumurs to Randy) Shes a legend. She broke the all-time[创纪录的的] scare record with the scream in that very can!

Dean Hardscrabble: I dont mean to interrupt. I just thought Id drop by[顺便拜访] to see the terrifying[可怕的] faces joining my program.

Professor Knight: Well Im sure my students would love to hear a few words of, inspiration[

Dean Hardscrabble: Inspiration? Very well, Scariness is the true measure of a monster. If youre not scary...what kind of a monster are you? Its my job to make great students greater. Not make mediocre[普通的] students less mediocre. That is why at the end of the semester[学期] there will be a final exam. Fail that exam...and you are out of the Scaring Program. So, I should hope youre all, properly, inspired.

Mike: Im so sorry.

Sullivan: It was an accident.

Dean Hardscrabble: What, this? My one souvenir[纪念品] from a lifetime of scaring? Accidents happen, dont they? The important thing is, no one got hurt.

Mike: Youre taking this remarkably[非常地] well.

Dean Hardscrabble: Now, lets continue the exams. Mr. Wazowski. Im a five-year-old girl on a farm in Kansas afraid of lightning. Which scare do you use? Mike: Shouldnt I go up on...

Dean Hardscrabble: Which scare do you use?

Mike: That is a shadow approach[接近], with a crackle[噼啪声] holler[叫喊].

Dean Hardscrabble: Demonstrate[示范]! (Mike is stopped by Dean Hardscrable before demonstrating) Stop. Thank you.

Mike: But I didnt get to...

Dean Hardscrabble: Ive seen enough. (turns to Sullivan) Im a seven-year-old boy…(Sullivan cant wait to demonstrate) I wasnt finished.

Sullivan: I dont need to know any of that stuff to scare.

Dean Hardscrabble: That “stuff”…wouldve informed you that this particular[特殊的] child is afraid of snakes. So a roar[吼叫] wouldnt make him scream, it would make him cry. Alerting[使……戒备] his parents, exposing[使曝光] the monster world, destroying life as we know it. And of course, we cant have that! So Im afraid I cannot recommend that you continue in the Scaring Program. Good day.

Sullivan: Wait, what? But Im a Sullivan! Dean Hardscrabble: Well then, Im sure your family will be very disappointed.(Sullivan leaves) And Mr. Wazowski, what you lack is something that cannot be taught. Youre not scary. You will not be continuing in the Scaring Program.

Mike: Please, let me try the simulator[模拟装置]. Ill surprise you!

Dean Hardscrabble: Surprise me? I doubt that very much.

2) So long.

4) Catch you later.

5) Good evening.

Sullivan: Dean Hardscrabble! If we get back into the Scaring Program, I hope theres no hard feelings.

Dean Hardscrabble: Tomorrow each of you must prove that youre undeniably[无可争辩地] scary. And I know for a fact that one of you is not.

Sullivan: ( looks at Mike) No. He works harder than anyone.

Dean Hardscrabble: Do you think hes scary?

Sullivan: Hes the heart and soul of the team!

Dean Hardscrabble: Do you think hes scary?

1) There were no hard feelings on my part.

2) Hey, no hard feelings. Its really not a problem.

Mike: Were gonna win this thing tomorrow, Sull, I can feel it! Well finally have our lives back on track[

Sullivan: Hey Mike, you know youve given me a lot of really great tips, Id love to return the favor[回报] sometime.

Mike: Oh, yeah, sure, anytime. Were doing this now?

Sullivan: Okay. Youve memorized[记住] every text-book, every scare theory, and that is great.(throws the books out of the window)

Mike: Hey!

Sullivan: But now, its time to forget all that. Just reach deep down[在内心深处] and let the scary out!

Mike: Ah, just feel it.

Sullivan: Exactly! Go wild!

Mike: I dont know, Ive kinda got my own technique[方法].

Sullivan: Give it a try. (Mike scares) Good, but bigger!

(Mike scares again) Youre thinking again. From the gut[内心深处]! Let the animal out! Come on, dig deep!

Shirley: Boys! Its a school night.

Mike: So, how was that?

Sullivan: Up top.

Mike: You know, it did feel different! I feel like its all coming together now. Yep! This time tomorrow, the whole school is finally gonna see what Mike Wazowski can do.

Sullivan: Youre darn right.

Tony is just going to have to dig deep if what his girlfriend really wants is that Tiffany necklace.

The city has to dig deep to host the Olympics.

Sullivan: Mike? Come on, buddy, lets get you outta of here. This is all my fault. Im sorry.

Mike: You were right. They werent scared of me. I did everything right. I wanted it more than anyone. And I thought…I thought if I wanted it enough, I could show everybody that...that Mike Wazowski is something special. And Im just...not.

Sullivan: Look, Mike, I know how you feel. Mike: Dont do that. Please dont do that. You do not know how I feel.

Sullivan: Mike, calm down.

Mike: Monsters like you have everything. You dont have to be good. You could mess up over and over again, and the whole world loves you.

Sullivan: Mike…

Mike: Youll never know what its like to fail because you were born a Sullivan.

Sullivan: Yeah, Im a Sullivan. Im the Sullivan who flunked[(考试等)不及格] every test. The one who got kicked out of the program, the one whos so afraid to let everyone down, that I cheated. And I lied. (sigh) Mike, Ill never know how you feel. But youre not the only failure here. I act scary, Mike. But most of the time...Im terrified.

Mike: How come you never told me that before?

Sullivan: Because we werent friends before.

1) outta = out of, 意思是“缺乏,离开”,例如:

This party is kinda boring. Im outta here.

You gotta try this coffee.

I hafta see that new Brad Pitt movie. Hes so handsome!
