Guinness World Records presented (颁发) China Central TV (CCTV) with the world record for the “Most Watched National Network TV Broadcast”, because of the Spring Festival Gala show. People would do just about anything for free food, but how about hugging a Coca Cola vending machine (自动贩卖机) for a soda?

Motoi Yamamoto is a Japanese a 2 . His works attracted a l 3 of attention in an exhibition at the Hakone Open-Air Museum in Kanagawa, Japan. He c 4 fascinating sculptures by filling a plastic bottle with salt and c 5 pouring salt onto the floor.

However, the story behind Yamamotos unusual technique is sad. He was a third-year art

s 6 at the Kanazawa College of Art in 1996 when his y 7 sister died of brain cancer. In Japanese culture, salt is often used to w 8 hands after people attend a funeral (葬礼).

Because of that, Yamamoto started working on a series of salt sculptures to remember his sister. And "brain-like” images are noticeable in some of Yamamotos works. He said, “D 9 these with salt is like following a line of my memory. Memories seem to change and vanish (不复存在) as time g 10 by. But in this way, I can touch a precious moment in my memories that cannot be expressed through pictures or writings.”
