The FIFA World Cup， often simply called the World Cup， is an international association football competition contested by the mens national teams of the members of Federation International of Football Association （FIFA）. The World Cup is the most popular sporting event in the world， beyond even the Olympic Games； the total number of audience of all matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup was about 26 billion with 715 million people watching the final match， a ninth of the entire population of the planet.

國际足联世界杯，通常简称为世界杯，是一个国际足球联合会（FIFA）成员男子国家队竞争的国际足球比赛。世界杯是世界上最流行的运动盛会，甚至超过了奥运会；2006年世界杯观看总人次约有260亿，其中有7.15亿观众观看了决赛，达到地球上的人口总数九分之一。

The championship has been awarded every four years since the first competition in 1930， except in 1942 and 1946 when it was not held because of the Second World War. The World Cup Finals， 32 teams， including the host nation， compete in the final competition for the title within the host nation over a period of about a month.

The 20 World Cup have been won by eight different national teams. Brazil have won five times， and they are the only team to have played in every World Cup. The other World Cup winners are Italy， Germany， Argentina， Uruguay， England， France and Spain. The winner now is Germany， which won its fourth title at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
