With society developing swiftly,I believe firmly there will be a much bigger stadium here.By then,we'll be able to not only do some gymnastics but(also)watch some fantastic games.I like physical exercise very much and I dream of/about becoming an athlete and gaining a gold medal in the imaginative stadium one day .

Twelve years ago,I was admitted as a director of films.In order to show respect to me,that film company sent a driver to pick up me,which made me very moved and grateful.

as well相当于too,as well as后必须跟宾语。

compete against/with后跟“对手”等,compete in后跟“比赛/竞赛活动”等。

except/but不包含,besides包含,apart from包含、不包含都可以。另外,except that后跟句子。

二.重、难点语法及详解

1.nor 放在句首,引起部分倒装

前面是否定时,后可用nor/neither引导部分倒装。延伸:前面是肯定时,则用so引导部分倒装(仅起强调作用时除外);如果前后表达的意思相反或者描述几种情况,则使用so it is with......

2.not only......but (also)......用来连接并列成分

特别要注意:not only......but (also)......连接两个主语时,主谓一致问题:就近原则,例句:Not only my parents but(also)my elder brother has ever been to the Bird Nest.;其倒装用法:not only后的句子使用部分倒装,but (also)后不能倒装。例句:Not only did the garage overcharge me,but(also)they hadn't done a very good repair job either.
