一、小作文

Directions:

Write an email to all international experts in your university,inviting them to attend a graduation ceremony.In this letter,you should state the time,place and other information about the ceremony.

You should write about 100 words neatly on the ANSWER SHEET.

2018年考研英语一的小作文是一封邀请信，要求考生给在你们大学工作的所有外国专家们写一封电子邮件，邀请他们参加毕业典礼。电子邮件与书信的格式一样，也是从称呼写起。称呼要顶格写，以示尊重。虽然这是一封写给所有外国专家的信，但它不是一封公开信，所以不能称呼Dear experts，我们可以称呼Dear Sir or Madam。

这封电子邮件的正文可以写成三段。第一段首先说明自己的身份，比如你是你们大学的学生会主席，接着表明写这封邮件的目的——邀请他或她参加毕业典礼。第二段依次交代这次毕业典礼的具体时间、地点和其他信息。为了使字数达到要求，这一段可以合理地虚构一些毕业典礼的信息。比如，学术委员会的全体成员将会参加这次毕业典礼并向毕业生颁发文凭，在毕业典礼之后将为外国专家安排晚宴等。第三段希望收信人接受自己的邀请，并请收信人尽早回信，告知是否能参加，以便做必要的安排。由于这是一封公务信函，所以要注意表达礼貌得体，我们可以通过措辞和使用虚拟语气来实现这一点。邮件的最后是署名，写在正文下方中间偏右的位置，上一行可写Yours sincerely，下一行写Li Ming，上下对齐。下面请看范文：

2018年考研英语一的大作文继续考漫画作文。在本题的漫画中，一名大学生正在电脑前选课。他似乎面对两门课程正犹豫不决：一门课知识新、重创新、有难度；另一门课给分高、易通过、作业少。按理说，面对这样两门课程时，这名大学生应该毫不犹豫地选择前者，可他却踌躇不定。所以这幅漫画反映的是一些大学生回避有难度的课程，而选择容易的课程的倾向。

本文可以写成三段。引言段描述漫画，并指出漫画中所反映的现象。主体段从两个方面阐述大学生应选择知识新、重创新、有难度的课程。第一，大学生选修有难度的课程，除了获得新知识，还可以培养出色的创造力，这将帮助他们在学习上和今后的事业上取得成功。第二，选修有难度的课程帮助大学生获得自信，因为在有难度的课程中取得成功最能增强大学生的自信。结尾段可以先引用爱因斯坦的话，指出教育的作用，然后建议大学生选择有难度的课程，因为这些课程会使他们获得创造力和自信，进而会使他们的学业和将来的事业受益。下面请看范文：

The picture above shows a college student choosing between two optional courses before a computer.He seems undecided as to which one to take: one with little coursework and easy to pass,another challenging but providing new knowledge and emphasizing creativity.The picture reflects a tendency among college students towards choosing easy courses.

But I recommend that college students sign up for challenging courses,as there are many benefits to enrolling in courses that are demanding.First,taking difficult courses can foster creativity in college students and offers them access to new knowledge,which will help them to succeed academically and later professionally.More important,enrolling in tough courses helps college students to gain confidence in themselves,for there are few confidence boosters as powerful as succeeding in a demanding course at college.

Albert Einstein said it best,“Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything learned in school.” Thus,I would like to advise college students to choose challenging courses that can equip them with creativity and confidence,which will in turn benefit them in their studies and future career.(182 words)
