野外露营是越来越流行的户外活动，它可以让我们获得野外生存的技能，懂得生命的珍贵。正常人没有食物可以活三周，没有水最多能活三天。设想一下，没有手机的野外露营会是什么样子的呢？

Imagine getting the chance to go camping for five days. It would be an adventure in the wild. You could row on a lake every day and leave your smart phone at home. Would you want to try this？

In June， four teenage girls from Minnesota， US， went camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. They had a great time even without their smart phones.

Julia Ruelle， 16， put the group together. Earlier this year， she won an essay contest award by a company. The award was a five？鄄day canoe and camping adventure with three friends. No parents or guides would be there. This award was supposed to encourage teenagers to be less dependent on technology.

Ruelle had been to the area before， but she had always gone there with her parents. Sharing the experience with friends would be very different， so she invited three friends， Anna Wander， Madelline Wilson， and Julianna Torelli.

They came up with a daily plan. “We wake up early every day. We are paddling （用桨划船） by noon. We eat lunch at the campsite. Then it is time for hammock， reading， writing， making friendship， and so on，” Ruelle said.

“There aren’t too many things to worry about，” Wander said when she was asked how she felt without her smart phone. Her favorite thing to do was lying in her hammock and looking at the lake. Torelli enjoyed cooking， so she made sandwiches.

No one felt hungry or homesick. “Mental （心理） health can be improved so much. It really helps to make you be less dependent on technology，” Ruelle said.
