巧用修辞手法，助力细节描写

读后续写是高考英语改革的一种新题型，在续写中若能适当运用比喻、拟人、夸张、排比等修辞手法进行细节描写，将能加强文章的表现力和感染力。在平时学习中，掌握积累修辞手法并学会灵活运用是提高读后续写的关键。

高中阶段常用的英语修辞手法有：明喻、暗喻、拟人、夸張、排比等。今天将学习修辞手法之拟人。

一、拟人（personification）

把无生命的事物或动物当作人来描写，赋予它们人的思想、情感、行为、声音等，使描写栩栩如生。例如：

The bird is singing happily.

用sing happily来描述小鸟的“欢叫”，赋予鸟儿人的行为和情感，营造出美好的听觉效果。

二、经典句子赏析

1. A night the earth didnt sleep.（选自2020人教版必修一Unit 4 P50）

句意：一个晚上地球没有睡觉。

分析：作者赋予地球人的行为sleep，运用拟人的修辞句子作为文章的标题，旨在引起学生进行深入思考，地球在这一晚为什么没有睡觉呢？

2. Slowly the city began to breathe again.（选自2020人教版必修一Unit 4 P50））

句意：慢慢地，这座城市又开始呼吸了。

分析：作者运用breathe赋予这个城市以生命，说明地震后通过大家的齐心协力，这个城市又恢复了往常生机勃勃的样子，拟人手法的运用加强了语言的形象性、生动性和艺术感染力。
