The Benefits of International Schools for Students in Academic Achievement

◆Abstract:International schools have being popular than ever before, the tendency of sending children to international schools grows rapidly. An international school is a place where to promote international education by implementing International Baccalaureate and Cambridge International Examinations, different from the local schools. Significant differences between international schools and traditional schools are based on the technology implement in teaching method, curriculum and learning environment.

1Introduction

International schools can improve students academic achievement by implementing technology into classrooms, raise the level of teaching outcomes. Because most of international schools are private schools, the expensive tuition fee has support a strong foundation of modern technology implementation. International schools have the advantage of implementing their curriculum with technology,because they have the financial support by the middle class. Without the stress of government standards,students are freely to develop their potentials with the support of technology.

2Specific Curriculum

International schools establish specific curriculum to improve students academic achievement.International schools have set many curricula which can explore students inner intelligence.The curriculum offers a wide range of subjects, students can choose the majors based on their own interests.For the convenience of students,many international schools provide the courses which are connected with the universities.Such as AP, helping senior high school students to choose the university level curriculum.After they finished the AP curriculum, and get more than three marks in five particular curricula, then they can achieve the Advanced Placement International Diploma.These curricula include world history,human geography and the comparison of government politics, and many other practical curricula. Once students have the interests in learning,they will be willing to study hard and find what they are really interested in.Many students gained the university credits before they enter the university.

Therefore,the curriculum setting in international schools improves students practical skills.According to the specific curriculum setting in international schools, students are connected with the universities all over the world, they will have the ability to pass the curriculum provided by universities.

3Multicultural Environment

International schools provide a multicultural environment which can improves students academic achievement.Because of the unique of international schools,students and teachers have something different from traditional schools.The multicultural environment requires students and teachers to have a better understanding of each other. So the youth have opportunities to get to know people from other countries,thus, they can improve their interpersonal intelligence and interpersonal skills. The younger they start to learn another language, the better imitation of the language they will have. Students from all over the world provide them a chance to get along with students with varies backgrounds, to adapt to the community.

Teachers are able to develop a better relationship with students under the multicultural environment,and a positive teacher-students relationship can benefit both teachers and students.A better student-teacher relationship influence students classroom performance.Traditional Chinese classroom always have more than fifty students at the same time, which brings teacher stress to manage the whole classroom.While international schools have fewer students in one classroom, so teachers can identify each students intelligence in these curricular.For instance, teachers will take care of the students more serious,willing to know the inner desire of their students.Under the circumstance of multicultural environment,teachers are free of the boring workload. As the teachers are the major of teaching, the better they performance in the classes, the more benefits students will have.

4Conclusion

International schools have established an effective approach of improving students academic achievement better than local schools.They implementing technology into class can raise the childrens interests of learning,establish specific curriculum focus on students multiple intelligence,and create a multicultural environment to make students study effectively.Teachers under multicultural environment enjoy a cheerful atmosphere with students,which will cause less teacher burnout, thus they can have a better classroom teaching performance to enhance students academic achievement.In conclusion, international schools have improved the students academic achievement effectively.
