首届中国(重庆)国际消费节释放活力 构建国际消费空间版图

Chongqing, hailed as mountain city, river city and bridge city, enjoys an attractive consumer market. Last July, the central government delivered new missions to Chongqing, depicting a promising vision for its new position as an international consumption center city. Later,Chongqing Municipal People’s Government issued the. According to the plan, Chongqing will primarily build itself into an international city in five major sectors, namely shopping, food, conventions& exhibitions, tourism and culture with the implementation of “ten major projects”. In this way, all-round improvements can be seen in the city’s global reputation, consumption prosperity, business vitality, transportation convenience and policy guidance.

立体山城、光影江城、魅力桥都,重庆消费市场独具魅力。去年7月,中央赋予重庆培育国际消费中心城市新的使命和定位,描绘了一幅美好的诗意画卷。此后,重庆市人民政府印发《重庆市培育建设国际消费中心城市实施方案》。方案明确,重庆将以建设国际购物、美食、会展、旅游、文化“五大名城”和实施“十大工程”为重点,全面提升重庆国际知名度、消费繁荣度、商业活跃度、到达便利度、政策引领度。

The First China (Chongqing) International Consumer Festival Launched at Guanyinqiao Pedestrian Street首届中国(重庆)国际消费节在观音桥广场正式启幕。

On the evening of June 16, at the Guanyinqiao Square, the appealing night scene of this mountain city complemented with the dazzling light on the stage with a 270° wrap-around screen. Here, the 1China (Chongqing)International Consumer Festival started in the New Consumption Season themed with “Love for Chongqing”. “The debut of this festival not only provides a platform for the matchmaking of major projects, facilitating the building of an international consumption center city, but also a stage for the release and presentation of international fashion, an exhibition for gathering of international brands and experience of global quality life”, Zhang Yongwu,the Director-General of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce said in his opening remarks.

Many key enterprises and districts/counties such as Yuzhong District,Jiangbei District, Jiulongpo District and Shapingba District actively participated in the festival. By giving full play to Chongqing’s mountains,rivers, culture, charming scenery, food and other featured consumption resources, they carried out a series of promotion activities for people to enjoy discounts in consumption. These actions have laid a solid foundation for Chongqing to be an international consumption center city, thus satisfying people’s needs for a better life.

According to the person-in-charge from the Division of Market Operation and Consumption Promotion, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, since this year, numerous activities with the theme of “Love for Chongqing”, such as Embracing Spring in Delight, Festival for Better Life,New Consumption Season have been organized by Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce. These activities encouraged the participation of over 20 districts/counties which gave out vouchers and coupons valued more than RMB40 million. Moreover, over 6,000 enterprises held 733 key activities and more than 2,000 consumption promotion activities. All of these met people’s aspiration for a better life.

During the festival, “Four-First Economy” (first store, first brand,first launch and first show), “Night Economy”, “Cloud Economy”, “She Economy” as well as other emerging forms and diverse types of consumption continued to unleash their vitality to empower the consumption of Chongqing.

To develop the “Four-First Economy”, the first national theme show of Ultraman: Galaxy of Light Heroes was launched in Shapingba District. A number of first stores for fashion like Tsutaya Bookstore and HayDon (a store specialized in high-end cosmetic products) were opened in Yuzhong District...First store, first launch, first show and first brand emerged in Chongqing successively, advancing the new growth of Chongqing fashion consumption.

As new forms of consumer market are emerging, consumption is promoted by the use of digital RMB, by internet celebrities, and by the integration of sectors. During the festival, Jiulongpo District Government worked with pilot banks for digital RMB including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and China Construction Bank to promote the application of digital RMB in shopping malls, supermarkets, and hospitality and catering industries. Many activities were carried out to encourage the consumption in digital RMB: digital money as a gift for those who have completed registration and binding of the bank cards and discounts for purchases made on digital RMB applications.

6月16日晚,江北区观音桥广场,270°环幕舞台灯光璀璨,迷人的山城夜景与缤纷绚丽的光影相互辉映。2022“爱尚重庆”焕新消费季首届中国(重庆)国际消费节在观音桥广场正式启幕。“今年首次举办的中国(重庆)国际消费节,既是国际消费中心城市重点项目对接洽谈的平台,也是国际时尚发布、国际风尚亮相的舞台,还是国际消费品牌集聚、国际品质生活体验的展台。”市商务委主任章勇武在开幕式致辞中表示。

活动期间,渝中、江北、九龙坡、沙坪坝等区县和重点企业纷纷响应,充分挖掘重庆山水、人文、美景、美食等特色消费资源,开展系列消费促进活动,营造全民乐享消费、惠享消费浓厚氛围,为重庆培育建设国际消费中心城市、满足人民群众对美好生活的需要提供有力支撑。

市商务委消费促进处负责人介绍,今年以来,市商务委统筹举办“爱尚重庆”渝悦迎春季、美好生活节、焕新消费季等主题消费促进活动,联动20多个区县共发放消费券4000余万元,组织超6000家企业开展733场重点活动及2000余场消费促进活动,有效满足了市民对美好生活消费的需求。

本次国际消费节期间,“四首经济”“夜间经济”“云端经济”“她经济”等新兴消费业态和多元消费类型持续释放活力,为重庆消费赋能。

Districts/counties of Chongqing as well as enterprises all put in place various promotion activities during the festival. A wide range of promotions,from vouchers and coupons, online exhibitions for shopping to shopping festivals, have been introduced, effectively bolstering and reenergizing the consumer market of Chongqing.

It is worth mentioning that during the festival the Matchmaking Fair of Major Projects on Building Chongqing into an International Consumption Center City was also held where over 30 major quality business projects were introduced to nearly one hundred companies well known at home and abroad followed by business talks among them. This matchmaking served Chongqing with a new platform to build an international consumption center and new opportunities to share with others the development momentum of Chongqing’s consumption market.

Peng Heliang, member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Deputy Director-General of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, said that quality projects are the crucial vehicle of urban business and commerce, and important engine for the upgrading of consumption and advancement of urban economy. Chongqing has always put quality projects high on its agenda to build itself into an international consumption center city, and actively put in place an international consumer market featuring high quality, comprehensive functions and balanced arrangements. This fair played an important role in precisely matching companies with projects, forging a virtuous cycle for development where one can empower others and be empowered in return.

值得一提的是,在同期举行的重庆市培育建设国际消费中心城市重点项目对接会上,30余个各具特色的优质重点商业项目进行了现场推介,与近百个国内外知名品牌开展面对面洽谈,为重庆培育建设国际消费中心城市、共享重庆消费市场发展机会提供新空间、新选择。

下一步,市商务委将全面优化完善政策措施,策划举办“不夜重庆生活节”“成渝双城消费节”“火锅美食文化节”等系列活动,搭建全域联动、全行业参与的消费促进活动平台和城市消费节日。统筹安排资金,对消费促进活动成效突出的区县、企业给予适当资金支持。支持商圈、商业街、购物中心、品牌商家利用公共空间或者自有场地,开展品牌营销推广、新品发布、宣传促销等活动,持续营造浓厚消费氛围。
