In the UK,the aim of primary school education is for children to enjoy their time at school and to develop knowledge,understanding andvaluesin order to reach their fullpotentialin allacademicand social areas of school life.The primary school PEcurriculumoffers arangeof sports includinggymnastics,basketball,swimming and outdoorbased activities such as football andathletics.

在英国，小学教育的目标是让孩子们享受在学校的时光，增长知识、提高理解力和形成价值观，以便他们在学校的学习和交往过程中发挥其全部潜能。小学体育课程包括一系列运动项目，如体操、篮球、游泳及户外的足球和田径等活动。

Primary school students need to learn how to plan,perform andevaluateactions,and to improve theirqualityandeffectiveness.Through thisprocess,students will discover theiraptitudesand preferences,and make choices about how to get involved in lifelong physical activity.

小学生需要学习如何计划、执行和评估行动，学习如何提高自身素养和做事的效率。通过这个过程，学生们会发现自己的才能和喜好，并决定如何参与终身体育活动。

Theemphasisof PE lessons is placed on the development of the ABCs (Agility,Balance,Coordinationand Speed) as children progress through the Lower Primary and Upper Primary School.Most of the British educationists believe that every student has the ability to find and can achieve an activity which they enjoy.The curriculum PE is fully focused on making sure that all students enjoy sport and value the importance of living a healthy,active lifestyle.

随着儿童从小学低年段升入小学高年段，体育课的重点随之放在了基本能力（灵活、平衡、协调和速度）的发展上。绝大多数英国教育学家认为，每个学生都有能力找到并完成他们喜欢的活动。体育课程致力于确保所有学生都喜欢运动，重视健康和积极的生活方式。

Maybe you would think that PE lessons must be taught in English definitely in the UK.However,in some primary schools,there are many students coming from China,so PE lessons in these primary schools arepartiallytaught in Chinese.

也许你会认为，英国体育课一定要用英语授课。然而，在一些小学，有许多来自中国的学生，所以这些小学的体育课部分用中文授课。

Are textbooks used in PE lessons in the primary schools in the UK? The answer is “NO”.In the UK,all the curriculums,including PE,are not textbook based,though the teachers may use a range of books to support the teaching and learningon occasion.They focus more on group and paired work to teach the skills of how to learn.

英国小学体育课是否使用教科书？答案是“否”。在英国，包括体育在内的所有课程都不是以教科书为基础的，尽管教师有时可能会使用一系列书籍来支持教学。教师们更专注在小组和配对合作中教授学生学习的技能。
