Responsible persons of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Peoples Government of Yuzhong District, Chongqing, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and Hong Kong VA Galleries, as well as consular officials from Hungary, the Philippines, Japan, Uruguay, Australia, and some other countries to Chongqing and Chengdu, attended the opening ceremony. Other attendees included 100 art lovers and media representatives.

In his speech, Kadar Gergely, Consul General of Hungary in Chongqing, said that this event was one of the activities for the “Western China Hungarian Cultural Festival: Spring of Budapest”, aimed at showing Chongqing citizens unique contemporary Hungarian arts. He hoped that this exhibition would increase peoples understanding of contemporary Hungarian arts, further strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as economic and trade cooperation with Chongqing and Yuzhong District of Chongqing, and enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Jiang Yonghong, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Peoples Government of Yuzhong District, Chongqing, stated that since Hungary established its Consulate General in Chongqing in 2010, the country has maintained friendly and active exchanges with all levels and fields of Chongqings government. This has helped build profound friendships, and the yearly “Spring of Budapest” and “Autumn of Budapest” series of activities organized by the Consulate General have gradually become a window for Chongqing citizens to learn about Hungary and a bond of friendship between the two peoples. Jiang expressed the hope that based on the existing sound cooperation, Chongqing would further expand friendly cooperation with Hungary and jointly organize diversified and colorful economic, trade, people-to-people, and cultural exchange activities to enhance mutual understanding of two peoples and materialize mutually beneficial development and prosperity.

“Im very happy to be back in Chongqing after a year and a half”, said ?der Orsolya, delighted and excited. ?der Orsolyas love for Chinese culture brought her to China for the first time in 2018. Because of her admiration for Hua Mulan, she gave herself the Chinese name “Mulan”, which sounds familiar and affable to Chinese people, in the hope that it will help more individuals in China will learn about and understand her. The theme of this exhibition is “Hear the Colors”. For ?der Orsolya, music and painting hold equal importance; the art of colors is concrete whereas music is intangible. “Here, colors link music and art, and you can hear how colors cooperate with music and know how important they are in both my life and creation,” said ?der Orsolya.
