The sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE) concluded on November 10 with tentative deals worth US$78.41 billion for one-year purchases of goods and services,the highest since its debut in 2018 and up 6.7 percent from last year.

Making its first complete return to in-person exhibitions since the onset of COVID-19,the event ran from November 5 to 10 this year,attracting representatives from 154 countries,regions,and international organizations.More than 3,400 enterprises from 128 countries and regions took part in the business exhibition,showcasing hundreds of new products,technologies,and services.

The 2023 China Aviation Industry Conference and Nanchang Air Show was held in Jiangxi Province from October 27 to 29.Six teams representing the highest level of aerobatic performance from home and abroad took turns showcasing their skills.In addition to two Chinese aerobatic teams,the AeroSuperBatics,the Airborne Pyrotechnics and the Global Stars aerobatic teams,all from Britain,as well as the Pioneer Team from Italy,performed midair ballets for the audience.

The Feinaki Beijing Animation Week 2023 kicked off on November 10 in Beijing and continued to run through November 13.

Alongside competitions,screenings and an exhibition,Feinaki Meets,a series of academic forums,also became an integral part of the event.It touched on topics ranging from “The Discovery of New Expressions: GIF,Short Video,Experimental Theatre” to “The Image Creator in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”

The event is dedicated to bridging the gap between animators in and outside China and inspiring and encouraging independent animators to participate in international exchange to promote a more prosperous ecosystem for animation.It also serves the increasing needs of the public to access animation knowledge and entertainment.

When naming the event,the organizers were inspired by the phenakistiscope,the first widespread animation device that created a fluent illusion of motion in the 19th century.

Under the theme “Arise,taking off in flight and setting forth on new journeys,” the 10th Wuzhen Theatre Festival was held in Wuzhen,Zhejiang Province,from October 19 to 29.

The festival featured theatrical performances,a theater market,outdoor carnivals and a competition for emerging theater artists,providing a platform for promising actors to showcase their talents and helping newcomers make a name for themselves in the Chinese theater industry.This year’s festival staged 28 domestic and foreign masterpieces from 11 countries and regions across Asia,Europe,and the United States,with 539 troupe performers and 87 performances.

The festival was founded in 2013,making this year its 10th anniversary.
