充分利用Wr i t i n g板块提升学生英语写作能力

新课标明确指出中学英语教学的最终目的是培养学生的交际能力，而写作是交际能力的一个重要组成部分。写作作为一项产出性活动，是学生能力的综合体现。写作在语言教学中占有举足轻重的地位，“写”能促进其它几项技能的发展。作为教师，应该优化写作教学的过程，促进英语写作教学效率的提高，有效提升学生的写作水平。

一、新教材写作板块应用价值高

人教版新课程高中英语教材从2009年秋季开始在湖北省使用，教材的每一个单元都安排了与整单元教学主题相关的写作任务板块，即Writing或Reading and writing或Speaking and writing等，在每一单元后的Workbook部分也设定了Writing task。这两部分都给学生提供给了很好的写作思路和方法。然而遗憾的是，这两部分内容往往被有的教师忽视了，原因有二：一是这两部分的话题太难，特别是针对农村学校的学生，导致教师的教学有一定困难；二是有的教师觉得它们与高考作文题区别较大，一些教师不愿意花“冤枉”时间。因此，不少教师的作文练习都是选自于套题上的与高考作文相似的作文题，让学生自己写，教师投入大量的精力和时间，对学生的习作认真批改，然后再不厌其烦地评讲，但是收效甚微。

写作能力提升的过程是一个循序渐进的过程，不能急于求成。教材上的写作板块正是注意到了这一点，对学生的写作任务的完成是层层铺垫的，有如下优点：

（1）每一单元写作任务基本上与本单元学习话题有关，这样使得学生在写作过程中不但有话写，而且还可以利用到本单元的词汇、句型结构和语法，从而能有效地复习本单元的内容。

（2）写作部分提供的写作步骤清晰合理，有利于学生，特别是中差等生的写作水平的逐步提升。

（3）有利于学生养成有效的学习策略，比如合作学习，因为其中有许多任务都是要求学生Work in groups of four或者Work in pairs.

（4）写作素材多样化，有利于学生拓展思维，开阔视野，培养创新精神；有利于加深学生对祖国文化的理解与认识，有利于学生培养世界意识，形成跨文化交际的能力。

因此，如果能有效地利用教材上的Writing板块，就能有效地提高学生的写作能力。

二、新教材写作板块应用案例

现在以及人教版高中英语必修1，Unit4为例，具体说明如何利用教材中的写作板块有效进行写作教学。

1．教材内容分析

覆盖内容：Speaking and writing

教材分析：本部分提供了更为详细的信息，让学生了解纳尔逊·曼德拉的生平简历，要求他们讨论发表对纳尔逊·曼德拉的看法，为后面的写作任务奠定坚实的基础。

2．教学目标

By the end of this class,the students willbeable to

*Ask for opinions and give opinions freely using some sentence structures.

*Write a passage about a person, knowing how to organize itwell and make itexcellent.

3．教学过程

Step 1Warming-up（3minutes）

Divide the students into two groups (Groups A&B)to have a competition to see which group can give asmuch information about Nelson Mandela as possible.(group work)

设计说明：本部分在于激发学生的学习兴趣和热情，巩固已学知识，并且引出本节课教学内容。

Step 2 Reading（3minutes）

1.Read the passage the Life of Nelson Mandela on Page 39 to know more abouthis life.(singlework)

2.Make sure the studentscan understand the following expressions.(class work)

设计说明：本部分让学生理解更多有关曼德拉的信息，为下面的说和写奠定基础。

Step 3 Speaking（10minutes）

1.Revise the expressions ofasking for opinions and giving opinions.(pair work, classwork)

2．Discuss questions using the expressions ofasking for opinions and giving opinions.(Group work)

Ask the students to discuss the following questions in groupsof four(the students can useWarming Up or Pre-reading as a help)and remind them tomake a list of their own opinions and give evidence to explain them.

3．Ask every group to report their work to the whole class and the teacher makes a summary and make comments. (classwork)

设计说明：本部分在于让学生熟练掌握运用征求和发表意见的短语和句型，并为下面的写作任务进一步提供语言素材。

Step 4 Writing（18minutes）

1.Assign thewriting task

Ask the students to write a summary ofNelson Mandela's life or a shortpassage about their ideas about Nelson Mandela (此处为两个写作任务，可让学生根据自己的实际能力任选一个）

2.Organize thewriting(single work, pairwork，具体内容略)

3.It's time for students towrite.(singlework)

When the students are writing their compositions,the teacher can encourage them touse some attributive clauses.

设计说明：本部分较好地体现了分层教学思想，对于英语基础水平稍弱的学生，可以让他们根据教材提供的时间年表写曼德拉的生平，对于能力较强的学生，可要求他们选取自己最重要的观点和论据，写一篇短文来论述曼德拉的伟大之处。并且让学生养成写作文前列提纲的好习惯。

Step 5 Assessmentand summary（10 minutes）

1.After the students have finished their writing,the teacher selects several students'compositions to be shown in the class,giving the students certain evaluation criteria and encouraging students to give their opinions,and then the teacher analysesand explains them.(classwork)

2.Ask the students to revise their own writing and then exchange theirwork with theirpartners.(singlework,pairwork)

设计说明：本环节通过生生之间对学生作文的互评及教师的点评，学生能及时纠错，能提高写作水平。

Step 6Homework（1minute）

Finish the writing task on P75.（Workbook）

设计说明：让学生进一步熟练掌握写人类文章的写作技巧，不断提高写作能力。

现有的高中英语教材给学生安排了适合学生能力水平的写作任务，并提出了相应的要求。设计的目的是引导学生在完成任务的过程中使用英语，要求学生在获取信息的基础上分析信息、处理信息，完成一项书面任务，强调在“做中学”。教师在处理该板块时，重点应当放在写作过程的设计上，如写前的任务设计、写中的调控与修改、写后的展示与评价，写作的各个环节都要有所侧重地予以重视。写作不再被视为学生自己的事情，而是由教师、学生共同参与的行为。这样，充分利用教材中的Writing板块，就能有效提升学生的英语写作水平。
