It has shown that perhaps 80% of all human illnesses are related to diet and 40%of cancer is related to the diet.A balanced diet can support a lifetime of good health and can help protect against diseases. Good food can be both pleasure and medicine - diet has a crucial role to play in disease prevention and longer and healthier living.

Traditional medicine attaches great importance to the role of food in human health. It refers to the beneficial ingredients in food as “water valley”, where “water valley”refers to food and water ingested by the human body, while“fine”refers to the pure and delicate part of food. The water valley is the essence of the body's intake of food and water, transported through the spleen and stomach, converted into the subtle substances that the human body can use.As early as the Tang Dynasty, "Shi Liao Ben Cao" as the earliest extant monotherapy in the world has been published, which contains 241 kinds of medicinal and edible plants. The principles of traditional nutrition are comprehensive, dialectical, meditation, proper compatibility, dietary contraindications, and diet hygiene.
