英语中的依“时”定“意”现象

在英语中，有一些做时间状语的词或词组在意义上并非固定不变。在这种时态的句子中，它是此意;在那种时态的句子中，它是彼意。这种依“时”定“意”现象，同学们应加以注意。

1. now

用于现在时，表示“现在，此刻;马上”;用于过去时，表示“当时;那时候”。如：

He was ill yesterday， but now he is well.

昨天他病了，但现在好了。

Everything is ready now.

现在一切都准备好了。

You must write now， or it will be too late.

你必须马上写信，否则就太晚了。

Tom’s mother died in 1970.Tom was now only three years old.

汤姆的母亲在1970年去世了，那时汤姆只有3岁。

We were doing our homework now.

当时我们正在做作业。

2. just now

用于现在时，表示“现在，马上，这会儿”;用于过去时，表示“刚才”。如：

I’m staying in London with a friend just now.

我现在正和一位朋友在伦敦。

We are going to visit the Great Wall just now.

我们马上要去参观长城。

She was here just now.

她刚才还在这里。

3. one day

用于过去时，表示“某一天，有一天”;用于将来时，表示“总有一天”。如：

One day last month， I met an old friend in the park.

上个月的一天，我在公园遇见了一位老朋友。

We have lost 100 times ，but one day we shall win.

我们已经失败100次了，但总有一天我们会获胜的。

The little girl will come to understand it one day.

那小女孩总有一天会理解它的。

4. in a week

用于现在时或过去时，表示“在一周之内”，常与learn， work等延续性动词及finish， complete等具有完成意义的动词连用。用于将来时，表示“在一周之后”，常与come， go， begin， be back等终止性动词连用。如：

You must finish the work in a week.

你必須在一周之内完成这项任务。

He learned three texts in a week.

他在一周之内学了3篇课文。

He will go there in a week.

他说他将在一周之后去那里。

5. at the moment

用于现在时，表示“此刻”;用于过去时，表示“那时，当时”。如：

Our English teacher is very busy at the moment.

我们的英语老师此刻很忙。

The boys were planting trees at the moment.

当时那些男孩子们正在植树。

6. as yet

用于现在时，表示“到现在为止”;用于过去时，表示“到那时为止”。如：

As yet， no man has set foot on Mars.

到现在为止，没有人到过火星。

As yet we had not made any plans for the holidays.

到那时为止，我们还没有计划如何度假。

7. so far

用于现在时，表示“到现在为止”;用于过去时，表示“到那时为止”。如：

So far， we have been successful.

到现在为止，我们是成功的。

So far， we had learned twelve units.

到那时为止，我们学了12个单元了。
